Pictures: Thousands take to the streets for London Free Palestine demonstration

THOUSANDS of people descended on central London today as part of a mass protest against the Israeli bombing of Gaza.

Starting at Marble Arch, the march swept through the streets of London towards the Israeli Embassy.

Barely a moment going by when some kind of chant could not be heard and a sea of Palestinian flags was not in view. At High Street Kensington, protesters climbed the roofs, scaffolding, street lights, planting the Palestine flag wherever possible.

Speakers at the event included Palestinian ambassador Husam Zumlot and former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

As the crowd was encouraged to move on due to the volume of people in such a tight space, thousands of people baring flags and placards streamed out into central London.
