THE MOUNTING cost-of-living crisis in the UK has led thousands of people to take to the streets of London.

Tens of thousands of workers and trade unionists turned out to the demo in light of the worsening cost of living crisis and erosion of workers’ rights.

Despite the numbers, there was very little trouble between police and the marchers, with the event remaining peaceful throughout.

The CWU and the RMT – who will hold nationwide strikes next week – were most represented, with thousands of trade unionists representing the organisations present in London today.
